Fallen Hero

By:Maurader

Ten years passed as I searched for thee,

Yearning to set sail for home

To see you is such glee

The years I struggled, pillaging Troy

And my fuel was my longing

A passion for you, my joy

I remained faithful

For ten long years

And you threw a banquet in my honor

After my ordeals

Or was it in the name of my demise?

A banquet of death greeted me

In a sudden rise, everyone dies

Why? Why did I deserve this fate?

Set sail to home

And greeted by death’s gate

The screams, the agony, and the horror I met

In the golden halls

Of my own residence

The food piled high

A feast for a King

That is when indulgence overtook me

Letting down my guard,

I was killed with a legacy

That is now just the song of a bard

However, fate has spoken

The cards are dealt

The pain, the suffering

That I felt.

My Clytemnestra

You are heinous

To do such a deed

Of deceitfulness

Our holy vows

Shattered

Your fiendish adultery

Is that all that mattered?

With no chance for vengeance,

A settling of scores

I can only hope

That Orestes will learn of these uproars

He will avenge me

In matricide

I will never find peace

Until you have died.
